The Korean Homeland Education program (K-HED) has been mainly provided, focusing on the Korean understanding course and the university preparation course. However, the demand for vocational-technical education necessary for employment has been increasing recently, and the need to develop specific action measures related to this is increasing. Against this background, the purpose of this study is to understand the current situation and review the direction to improve the Korean Homeland Education program (K-HED).
The survey conducted by this research will involve graduates of the Korean Homeland Education program (K-HED) operated by the Gongju National Education and Culture Center and overseas Koreans wishing to participate in the program in the future. (However, if a minor under the age of 18 responds, the legal representative’s consent is required.) The expected number of participants is 30-40 students and 100-150 (non-participants) who wish to participate.
Among the subjects who responded to the survey in this study, FGI will be conducted for a more in-depth survey of the Korean Homeland Education program (K-HED) graduates who have entered domestic universities or have been employed by domestic companies. The estimated number of participants is less than 10.
This interview is conducted to supplement the quantitative results of the survey. The first FGI will be conducted for representative remote education operating institution (university) practitioners and Gongju National Education and Culture Center remote education practitioners to analyze the existing educational environment in the COVID-19 pandemic. The estimated number of participants is around 10.
The second FGI will be conducted for the heads and practitioners of related domestic institutions (Korea Polytechnic University) that operate vocational-technical education to design vocational-technical education programs. The expected number of participants is two (1 person in charge and 1 person in charge).
