Colonoscopy and polypectomy practices in patients with antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants among Asian physicians: a multi-national, multi-center, prospective survey |
Personal details
We greatly appreciate your participation in this survey about colonoscopy and colonoscopic polypectomy practices in patients with antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants among Asian gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopists and physicians (cardiologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons) who frequently use those drugs. We expect that this study will let us know the current practice patterns of cease of antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants before colonoscopy and colonoscopic polypectomy in high risk patients for bleeding in Asia.
Colon polypectomy is regarded as high risk for bleeding. However, interruption of antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants may result in cerebrovascular accident (CVA)s or coronary artery disease (CAD)s in patients with previous CVA or CAD. Therefore, those kind of drugs should be properly managed during colonoscopy or colon polypectomy.
The result of this survey could be used as a background evidence in standardizing clinical practices among Asian physicians. It may also be used as an education material. It will take about 10 minutes to finish this survey. Thank you again for your contribution.
