This year, between May 30th and 31st, the P4G summit will be held in South Korea. It is an event for the international community to discuss the strategies to achieve the carbon emission reduction goals by 2030, in accordance with the 2015 Paris Agreement. To align with the Paris Agreement and limit the global temperature rise, South Korea must retire all coal power generation by 2030. As such, all new coal plant constructions must also be stopped.
The first steps of climate action are planning for 2030 coal phase out and cancelling new coal plants. Between May 10th and 28th, we are holding a national march and e-card submission campaign to demand for 2030 coal phase out and cancellation of new coal projects.
